I'll need to update this page soon, as it is really outdated.
PL/SQL and Oracle Programming
| Quest's PL/SQL "Pipeline" |
A great discussion group for PL/SQL questions. It's a lot to absorb, but you
should turn to this site first when you encounter a problem. If you can't find it here, go to Tom Kyte's site. |
| Ask Tom |
Fantastic site. Tom Kyte has been one of my backpocket "secrets" for years.
If I had looked everywhere and searched the web from top to bottom in vain, I could
always count on Tom being able to answer my toughest problems, always with code examples too!
He used to haunt the Usenet groups, now he has his own website. Check it out! |
| Expert's Exchange - Oracle |
Another good site to get your tough questions answered. A quick, free registration, and you're in. It's
a point system, so you need to contribute once in a while to have enough points to ask questions. |
| OraFAQ |
Fairly decent collection of short articles and blurbs on everything Oracle. |
| Oracle PL/SQL |
OTN site dedicated to PL/SQL. Much less activity here than, say Java and XML, but there are still
some gems to be had, like their sample scripts for using utl_smtp to do simple/complex emails out of the
database (including textual or binary attachments). |
DBA, Design, Tuning
| Tim Gorman's site. Lots of genius. Lots of low-level, very useful scripts. |
| OraPub |
Craigh Shallahamer's site. Like most of the tuning gurus, he used to work for Oracle.
This site has some great white papers and downloadable utilities. |
| OraPerf |
Recently updated, allows you to submit older bstat/estat reports, and now STATSPACK
reports as well. Automatically analyzes them! Links and utilities as well. |
| Steve Adam's site |
The low-level insights and wisdom of one of the tuning gods. |
| The Oak Table |
Most of the best Oracle gurus in the world belong to this organization. |
Documentation
| 9i Doc Library |
Oracle's online 9i documentation library. Must register with OTN first. |
| 8i Doc Library |
Oracle's online 8.1.7 documentation library. Must register with OTN first. |
